I love sparkling frosty mornings. They remind me of a fairy’s dream.
The other day, I woke up to a white wonderland in my front yard. Immediately, I went out and took pictures. It was breathtaking. But as I was snapping away, a question came to me, and the more I thought about it, a truth was revealed.
What causes the frost?
Hoarfrosts come after a dark night that’s filled with heavy fog. Everything is cold and silent. Everything gets encased in a frozen layer of unyielding ice. It’s cold. It’s quiet. It’s lonely. It is a time of silent despair…
Then the morning comes. Sparkling sunshine reflects off the frozen, captured fog. It’s so beautiful. It takes your breath. The very thing that seemed so horrible in the dark is now an object of beauty. A trophy of sorts.
What are hoarfrosts?
They’re nature’s evidence that beauty always comes when a dark, foggy, icy night is faced and overcome. Hoarfrosts are God’s way of letting us know that everything is going to be okay.
If you’re facing a dark, cold night. If the fog is so thick that you feel confused. If your heart feels like it’s encased in ice… Then take a deep breath. Smile. And know that your glorious morning is on its way, and when it arrives—it’s going to be SPECTACULAR!!
You’re going to make it. Not only that—you’re going to SHINE!!
“God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Great, great post, Danele. And another one I’m taking to my GriefShare group tonight. So many of them are going through that dark, frozen night of grief…seeing only loss and a bleak future. And tonight’s the night we begin talking about being thankful to God in the middle of this inky ocean of grief.
Pray for the multiplied thousands of folks stuck in grief this morning, failing or refusing to see the light of God’s mercy and hope. When releasing our fisted hold on the pain and giving it to Jesus is the only answer! The only choice!

I hope that tonight there are breakthroughs made in people’s lives. I hope the cold, foggy night starts turning into a glorious dawn. ❤

Like diamonds, We shall shine for Him when we let Him shine through us.
Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Philippians 2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
Thank you for the reminder that what looks dark to us, is beautiful and has purpose to HIm.
